“A CERTAIN DAMSEL”, LEKE ALDER, THE CHURCH AND THE TRUTH

I was going through my feed on Twitter, looking for nothing in particular when I came across a retweet by a friend from Leke Lader #Illuminare series.  I have known Leke Alder for more than a decade already, I have listened to him teach severally and I regularly read his contents, most of which I usually disagree with because they the foundation on which they are built is religion and not Christ as he tries to portray them most times. I respect his thoughts on business, leadership and branding, but when it comes to articulating it with the position of God, it is always obvious because his conclusions are always in the defence of religion.  I remember reading his position on tithing, a well scripted misconception that clearly outlined the truth about tithing, the redemptive work of Christ as the fulfilment of the law, but carefully sat on the fence in the name of religion, leaving the truth of the curse of the law of trying to bribe God with 10% to discretion? Imagine your so-called Bible scholar telling you that tithe is a fulfilment of the law and no longer a requirement to access the grace with have in Christ, but still telling you that the practise of it is your discretion? I think he’s right when he said a spirit speaking the truth is doesn’t mean it’s from God. Obviously, a Leke telling you the truth about a lot of religiously conditioned scriptures is only doing so to espouse his belief and not expose you with the true position on God on any of such matters. Speaking for personal correctness and not for God like “a certain damsel”.

It’s amazing his thoughts like #Letter2Jack #Letter2Jill and #Illuminare are now the life compass of many, including my dear friend. It is sad but, I’d just discovered my friend had practically fashioned his life decisions on these regular self-serving threads, thinking he’s seen the light, falling deep into confusion and hurting the people he that loves him because of it. He’d retweeted one of those thread a few days ago, and I saw every word he spoke in our last conversation in it verbatim, I felt like crying for him but I couldn’t in the end. I decided to read the #Illuminare for the weel so that I won’t just be reacting, and it’s amazing that I was right all over again. It became a burden on me to write about this “speaking spirit of false cloaked in truth” because a lot of people are being fed the new dimension of religion in the name of moving away from religion to living the God kind of life, while they are only drowned in a revised standard version of the same religion designed to control their lives instead of leading them to salvation and freedom.

Here’s the tweet, you can find time to go read the whole thread as well.

The highlighted part of the thread struck me because it was a LIE appearing to be true, backed by a very interesting and popular portion of the Bible that is actually ignored in parts. I’m sure you’ve heard this song before if you’re old school like me. “Paul and Silas, they prayed, they sang, the Holy Ghost came down…”, the quoted scripture leads to the very popular experience that got them into prison in the first place and it is here below.

“16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Acts 16:16-40 King James Version (KJV)

Going by this bible reference, the right statement should be…

“That a spirit speaks truth for PROFIT means it’s not of God, that it testified of God and echoes salvation doesn’t mean it is of God either”

according to  Act 16:16-24. This directly points at all the Orthodox & Pentecostal businesses all over the world that has turned a the Gospel of Christ to financial profiteering ventures. The truth is God, it is not for financial profit as it is obtainable today in the so called “Household of Faith” – the new term being used to rebrand the church business since the word “Christianity” has been abused to the dumps. The truth is from God, it is the word of God and the profit thereof is the salvation of souls, not for financial breakthrough, divination, prophesy, revelation, miracles and co as being bandied with the church business, every other thing is naturally added if the truth is rightly delivered without cunningly device fables.

A good example of those who the Act 16:16-24 quoted refer to as “a certain damsel possessed with the spirit of divination” are the pastors you see everyday today; advertising their churches, preaching the gospel of tithe and demanding seeds (harvest) from where didn’t sow, selling miracles, prophesies and prosperity that are not work based, all in the name of Jesus Christ, “these are they that speak the truth but are not of God” because they have only selected a portion of the truth that fits their lies, just the way Leke Alder had done in this his so-called illuminaire. Whatever it is that has possessed them needs to be casted out, even if the price of the truth is to be attacked, labelled named the antichrist in the end.

These merchants of lies are even no longer hiding behind the curtains salvation to sell their lies in the gift-wrap of truth like the “certain damsel”, they do it without restriction or inhibition. They are bold to the level where they tell you that their own words is now the truth; no longer the truth of the Gospel of Christ. I remember a certain Abuja pastor telling his congregation that “even if Christ should appear where he was preaching tell him seed sowing does not function in the truth of God’s word, he will tell Christ He’s lying” and the sheeples went into a frenzy of Hallelujahs! Apparently, he was sure Christ was not going to break in through the roof of the packed auditorium to challenge his deception, he had to reaffirm the lies with the truth he perceived.

You don’t need to go far to find them, they are everywhere around you. On your Television, Radio, Internet and Social Media space etc… a whole lot of you know, worship and adore this spirits that use to the truth to wrap their financial thirst for with scriptures. The good thing for about a whole lot of these “certain damsels” is that the truth they use to sauce their intentions for profit is only out of contest, it remains the truth, and they even remember to remind you that the truth is important, but paying God a premium to receive blessings from Him is Importanter.

 #TRUTH

The truth is the truth irrespective of who is speaking the truth; however, the truth is compromised if the purpose is NOT to spread the truth of God’s word. The devil spoke the truth when he quoted the scripture to Christ in his attempt to tempt Christ after the 40 days and 40 nights of fasting and praying, but the purpose of the truth shared at that point is for personal gain, and not to establish the Kingdom of God on earth and in us; the purpose was to derail Christ, the same way the “certain damsel” was speaking the truth, even though the mission of the speaking spirit was to derail the apostle, a situation that led to a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, leading to the salvation of more souls in the end.

The thoughts and words of the many Leke Alder and “Certain Damsel” that are waxing lyrical with quoted scriptures either for personal gain or self aggrandizement is usually the truth being spoken for their own purpose and not they want you to know the or be free. Let no Leke Alder distract you with the ballad of who is speaking instead of concentrating on the truth of God’s word, all you need is the Holy Spirit (and not some self proclaimed messiah) for you to be able to discern when the truth is coming from the throne of grace, and when it is coming from a speaking spirit of divination that has possessed “a certain damsel” or pastor or businessman.
